Tokyo – 東京
Tokyo is a city that always amazes me. It is nothing like any place I have visited before and for that reason, it always draws me back to it. The hustle and bustle of the Tokyo metropolis runs both day and night, and the atmosphere of the city changes when night time arrives.
Kyoto – 京都
Also known as the “City of a Thousand Shrines”, Kyoto lies west of Tokyo and lives up to its name with the number of shrines in the city. One could spend a year living in Kyoto and still not visit all of the shrines – but that’s a good enough incentive to visit again, right?
Hiroshima – 広島
One of a few places in Japan that personally, for me, has a country-side atmosphere to it. Tram lines run down the middle of the road and taking a ferry across the waters to Miyajima island is a needed to see the infamous Torii gate at Itsukushima shrine.
Osaka – 大阪
The city known only for its food in Dotonbori street and the jumping Glico man. Regardless of visiting day or night, the food is always good and the atmosphere welcoming. But do explore the side streets, you might find yourself upon a small shrine in the middle of the city.
